Sarah Smith Feedback: 11/14/2022
Overall good
- Desire to be helpful and actually going above and beyond to assist teammates
- Attention to detail in all of your work
- Ability to think both long-term for the longevity of the company + short-term (what needs to be done immediately)
Overall needs improvement
- The details sometimes don’t have to be so thorough - 80% completion is good enough, since your definition of 80% is likely 110% for most other performers
- Asking for permission - do things without asking for approval so you don’t slow down
Actions to take
- HABIT: I will work on declaring what I intend to do instead of asking for approval so I don’t slow down. (By 2-1-23.)
- HABIT: I will work on zooming out and settling for my version of “good enough” rather than being 100% thorough prematurely. (By 2-1-23.)
- ACTION: Add a recurring calendar block to send weekly updates to my manager (Jenny) for proactive communication. (By 11-15-22.)
Self-assessment
Paste in the teammate’s self-assessment below.
- Your performance, 1-5 (where 3 is "meeting expectation"): 4
- What you did that you liked:
- Always seek to help others around me by unblocking them
- Always meets all deadlines provided with deliverables
- Bias towards action for whatever has to get done, regardless if I’ve been assigned or not
- What would get you to the next level:
- Seeing the forest from the trees - sometimes, I can get lost in doing the nitty-gritty
- More proactive communication with my manager
